Math to Braille made easy!

An outcome of UTMOST is a system for converting math books to Braille with minimal overhead. Using PreTeXt as the source, books can be produced in multiple output formats (HTML, PDF, ePUB) and now Braille. Read the full story or listen to a brief podcast from public radio in Tacoma.

UTMOST 1

The first UTMOST project (2010 to 2014) is where this all began. Results of that project were

SageMathCloud: a comprehensive cloud computing environment for education and scientific computing. In 2017 it was renamed CoCalc.
Sage Cell Server: embed live computations into any webpage.
MathBook XML: a framework for writing mathematical material to publish in a variety of formats.
Sage Education Workshops: workshops for learning how to use Sage in education
AIM Open Textbook Initiative: quality open-source textbooks.
